State of the Mod Team - August 2019.

Hi everyone! There's nothing extremely pressing to announce, just a quick note that throughout part of the month of August, two members of the mod team will be extremely busy and/or absent, leaving just little old me to handle the game in the meantime! This has already caused a bit of slowdown in responses to questions and list updating. I will try to keep on top of things as well as I can until my co-mods return, but if there is a slowdown please be assured that it's due to shortage of manpower, not lack of interest!

This will particularly affect tags from Creepy Joe the NPC, as the mod who plays him will be in and out. Expect those tags to pick up again once things are back to normal. He isn't gone yet!

If you need an answer to a question urgently, please feel free to send a message to the mod account, as they may catch my attention quicker, and I'll do my best to get you what you need.

tdm use clarification

We have received a couple of questions regarding the Test Drive Memes and whether they are considered game canon. The short answer is yes, all prompts in the monthly Test Drive Memes are considered game canon. This is to allow prospective players to get a real feeling for what kinds of plots to expect in the game, and to feel fully integrated in the ongoing plot upon acceptance.

Current players are more than welcome to post top-levels and mingle in the TDM post itself, or to use prompts from the TDM in posts on the in-game communities. All threads on the TDM are applicable for Activity Check for current players so they are free to interact with prospective players without worrying about AC.

The Game Standards page has been updated with the following blurb to reflect this clarification:
▶ Test Drive Memes will be posted on the 20th of each month and are considered canon and may include plot elements, so we suggest following the memes community or the mod plurk to avoid missing any plot elements that may come up on the TDM. Current players are welcome to post top-levels on the TDM posts, or to use prompts from the TDM in posts done on any of the game communities. Generally, plot elements on the TDM will not be confined to just the TDM and will lead into in-game plots that are more involved. Any threads with characters on the TDM that are not applied for or accepted can still be considered game canon by current players, with the missing character being explained ICly as a digital ghost or glitch.
